Checking in
It is recommended that you check in at the airport at least one hour (domestic destinations) and two hours (international destinations) prior to the scheduled flight departure and report to the gate at least 30 minutes before the flight departure. This should allow enough time to check in, pass through security checkpoints and make it to your departure gate.

Travel within the United States, including Hawaii
All United Vacations customers will need valid state or federal government-issued picture identification to travel. A passport, driver's license, state-issued identification card or military identification are acceptable.

Carry-on baggage information
For travel worldwide on United, you may carry on one bag and one personal item such as a purse, briefcase, or laptop computer.
- A carry-on bag must fit under your seat or in the overhead bin.
- Carry-on bag dimensions should not be more than 9" x 14" x 22" (length + width + height) or 45 linear inches (the length, height and width added together).
United may require that a carry-on item travel as checked baggage if the item cannot be safely stowed on a particular flight.
United exempts the following personal items from the one piece limit:
- Child safety seats for ticketed children
- Assistive devices (e.g. canes, crutches, etc.)
- Outer garments (e.g. coats, hats, etc.)

International baggage policy
United is announcing a new checked bag policy for customers who purchase nonrefundable domestic economy tickets.
- Customers purchasing domestic economy tickets to/from the U.S., Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and San Juan who do not have status in Mileage Plus or Star Alliance may check one bag for free and a second bag for a $25 service fee, per direction.
- Customers who have attained Premier status or higher in Mileage Plus or who have Silver status and above with a Star Alliance partner, are exempt from this policy change.
- The new policy applies to tickets purchased on or after February 4, 2008 for travel on or after May 5, 2008. Please view the Domestic baggage questions for additional details on this policy.
All customers traveling on United may check at least one free bag. The number of free bags allowed per customer will vary according to your Mileage Plus status and/or the type of ticket purchased. full domestic baggage policy - international baggage policy

Sports Express. Sports Express will pick up your sports equipment at your home or office and deliver it directly to your destination, with an on-time guarantee. Pick up and delivery is available anywhere within the United States and the United Kingdom.
